you stumble through the boards, hanging on to random threads to keep your balance. it's a rough life out there, but you know what you're doing -- right?
suddenly in a whoosh of air you realize you've grabbed a weird one, a thread that seems to have sucked you right in! the lights spin and you see faces all around you, horses of different sizes, shapes, and colors. you're tied with something itchy and trussed up like a pig at a barbeque, and -- OHMYGOD, is that fire?!
weird chanting fills your ears and the sound of too many hooves stamping in rhythms you can't even begin to recognize starts to make everything tremble, even your own bones. but they're horses, you think desperately, trying to chew your way through a gag you just realized was there. they can't possibly be that violent!
suddenly it all goes quiet, and a human steps forth from the ranks. finally! someone with some sense around here! the human is a girl, tall but slender. you can tell by the shape of her body that she's in between being a girl and becoming a woman. her hair is short and brown, and looks like it's been cut with a haphazard razor... or hooves. it falls just above her shoulders, and heavy, jagged bangs cover her face. you can just make out one gleaming green eye in the firelight, before a huge stallion emerges from her side.
he is a magnificent creature, and now you begin to remember... you were chasing him when you got trapped! he was the reason! his withers are almost as high as her head, but he is also a slender creature. his seal-bay coat is sprinkled with dapples, and a wide white blaze split his face. two white socks cover his hind ankles, and black eyes glint in the flames as he gives you a good once-over.
he appears to communicate with the girl, and she finally speaks. "you are brave, coming so far into xaveron," she says, one hand on the huge stallion's muscular neck. "i wonder what drew you in so far..." with a quick flick of her fingers, she yanks the gag from your mouth and tosses it on the ground.
"they're under my control, you know. they're my characters. they won't do anything... unless i tell them to." she deftly unties the knots that bind you, and you can finally stretch your tired limbs. "so tell me, which one of them did you want to see so badly that you adventured this far, hm?"
with the utmost caution, you are allowed to proceed...

Valkyrie the first horse you see is that tall, beautiful stallion. he knows you're interested, and he feels sorry for scaring you earlier, so he nudges you with his muzzle in an apology. the girl from before comes up to you and pulls out a sheet of paper. "his name's valkyrie," she tells you. "take a look at this if you want more information."
Name- Valkyrie Pronunciation- VAL-kee-ree Nicknames- Val, Vallie Age- 7 Gender- Stallion Breed- Oldenburg Height- 16.2 Alliance- Neutral Herd- Summer Forest Rank- King Grandsires- Unknown -- RIP Granddams- Unknown -- RIP Sire- Valhalla (Bay) -- RIP Dam- Rhine (Chestnut) ** Uncles- None ** Aunts- None ** Brothers- Cartazonon (Chestnut) ** Sisters- Lorelei (Black) [ X] Cousins- None ** Crush- None ** Mate- None ** Colts- None Fillies- None Grandcolts- None Grandfillies- None Personality- Valkyrie is not necessarily a nice horse, but he tries his best to be fair. He can't tolerate idiots, and thinks that anyone with less intelligence than he who is not actively trying to educate themselves is of no use to the world. Usually he's in a good mood -- quiet, but happy and easy-going. As in all horses, his temper flares in battle, but over the years he has managed to learn how to keep his flames burning cold. He much prefers to exchange words with enemies and push them into a rage, since he has found that rage usually inhibits good judgment. He hates being still; exercise is pleasurable to him. He has a true love for life, though he is not naive enough to forget what happened to his herd. Valkyrie has trouble understanding the Darks, and why they do the things they do. He isn't fond of taking sides, but he fails to see the point of mindless destruction and evil. He tends to laugh things off if he can't deal with them immediately, and that's especially true with mares. He's never been interested in a particular mare before, and has no offspring -- he wouldn't know what to do with himself if he loved someone. The closest he's come to that is protecting his younger sister, Lorelei. All in all, he's not a very complex guy. He's fair, quiet, active, and awkward. Past- Valkyrie was raised well, but not in any special way. His sire was a lord in the Summer Forest herd, and between them, his parents had three foals. They had two colts, the dappled-bay Valkyrie and his chestnut brother, Cartazonon, and a black filly, Lorelei. Cartazonon was the oldest, followed by Valkyrie, followed by Lorelei. They were all spaced about two years apart, give or take a little. In any case, his foalhood was relatively happy. He was young when the feud began, but he understood that someone from Summer Forest had provoked the wrath of a Dark herd, and now his father had to go off and fight. His brother didn't cry; at age four, he was too old for that. His sister didn't understand; she was only a few months old. Valkyrie was only two, and he wept as if his father was already dead. It took a while for things to really boil; there were stealth missions and guard duties, sure, but nobody really expected anything. A few years passed and they were raised knowing that they had enemies who would hurt them just because they were from Summer Forest. Something changed one night, and the main militia of the herd was gone. For three days the mares and the young ones stayed in the forest, close together, prepared for the worst. At age seven, Cartazonon was the oldest of the young ones, older even than the king's heirs, so he took over as regent. Valkyrie was five, and Lorelei had just turned three. On the third day, one of the stallions returned. He told his herd that he was the only survivor, but that the other herd's army hadn't won. "It was a draw," were the last words that stallion uttered before dying in his homeland. Again, Valkyrie wept. Lorelei had barely known her father, so she couldn't be too sad. Cartazonon bottled his grief, if he had any. His position as regent turned permenant, but he only stuck with it for a year. He disappeared during the night, just as his father had done on the eve of battle, and never came back. Valkyrie succeeded his brother to the throne at the age of six, and has ruled in peace for a year. His problem now is that he's not sure he's really meant to be king, and wonders if he should copy his brother and take off some night.[/blockquote] ** if you want to play someone in his family, let me know!

Airelyn the second horse you see is a young mare. she stands a little ways off from the crowd, giving the impression that she'd rather be somewhere else. nevertheless, she's a sweet thing, and playfully flattens her ears out to the sides as if ask, "so you're stuck here too?" the girl pulls out another sheet of paper. "her name's airelyn," she tells you. "here, take a look."
Name- Airelyn Pronunciation- AIR-a-lin Nicknames- None Age- 5 Gender- Mare Breed- American Saddlebred Height- 15.0 Alliance- Neutral Herd- None Rank- None Grandsires- Unknown -- RIP Granddams- Unknown -- RIP Sire- Unnamed (any shade of Dun) ** Dam- Unnamed (Chestnut/Sorrel) ** Uncles- None ** Aunts- None ** Brothers- None ** Sisters- None ** Cousins- None ** Crush- None ** Mate- None ** Colts- None Fillies- None Grandcolts- None Grandfillies- None Personality- Airelyn is a very... airy mare. She's a dreamer and she always has been. She would rather be alone in her head enacting stories than with anyone else, most of the time. It depends who you are, usually, but she'll either be your best friend or a total b!tch. She loves making others laugh, and totally plays up her ditzy side just for the sake of a joke... but if she's not in a good mood because something or other happened, she can be really snarky. She's got wit, but whether she uses it to amuse or mock you depends on how well her day's going. Her dream is to act out the stories in her head, and she actually thinks like that sometimes -- like she's part of a play. She never tells anyone, of course... it's the biggest little secret she's got. Past- She was born and raised a Light. When she got to be old enough to understand the conflict more than "they're bad, we're good", she was at first really into it. The whole thing turned sour in her head after a while, like it was always interfering with what she wanted to do. She couldn't go where she liked, she couldn't say what she wanted, and she had to keep supporting the troops. She doesn't condemn the Lights, but she left them for the Neutrals so that she could be more of an independent party in the whole war thing. She would rather the good guys win, but she's not really into getting involved unless her neck is personally on the line. Call her a coward, but she's probably not even listening.[/blockquote] ** if you want to play someone in her family, let me know!
